Privacy Policy

This policy covers Steady Remote (steadyremote.com), a free job site for remote customer service jobs in the United States. It says what we collect, what we do with it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect

If you take the quiz, we store the answers you give: the states you can work in, the schedule you want, your experience, whether you have a computer, when you can start, and anything you tick on the last question. When you finish, we store your email address and phone number, and whether you ticked the box asking for text messages.

We also record how you arrived (the page you landed on and any campaign tags in the link), which listings you click Apply on, and, if you tell us, whether the employer got back to you. That is how we know which employers are worth keeping.

Like most sites we collect device and analytics data: your browser type, approximate location from your IP address, the pages you view, and the buttons you use. We use PostHog for analytics and, when advertising is running, the Meta Pixel and Conversions API to measure it.

What we do with it

We match your answers to listings and send you the ones that fit, by email and, only if you asked for it, by text. We share your profile with employers and partners for jobs you select, which is what you agreed to when you finished the quiz. We do not sell your information to anyone else, and we never charge you anything.

We do not sell or share your SMS opt-in data or personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

Your mobile number and your SMS consent are never shared with employers or partners, even when your profile is shared for a job you select. Answers about whether an employer got back to you are used only in aggregate and are never sent to the employer.

Text messages

If you tick the SMS box on the quiz, you will receive Steady Remote job alerts: up to one text a day listing new remote customer service jobs that match your answers. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel at any time, or HELP for help. Consent to texts is not a condition of using the site.

Who else sees it

The services that run the site see what they need to: our database host, our email and text providers, and our analytics and advertising tools. Each one is bound by its own agreement with us and may not use your information for its own purposes.

Your choices

Your matches page has an Edit my answers link and a Pause emails button. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and replying STOP to any text stops the texts. You can ask us to delete everything we hold about you at any time.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information

If you live in California, you have the right under the CCPA to tell us not to sell or share your personal information, to know what we hold, and to have it deleted. We do not sell personal information. Sharing a profile with an employer for a job you select happens only at your request, and you can withdraw that at any time on the Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, which also lets you request deletion. We will not treat you differently for using it.
